Bombing at Jerusalem bus station

Jerusalem Bus Bombing Bombing at Jerusalem bus station

March 23-- This morning a vicious terrorist bomb attack has killed one person and injured at least 3o innocent civilians at a Jerusalem bus station.  Furthermore, rockets fired from Gaza have fallen near Ashkelon. Sadly, this is yet one more reminder of what Israelis endure on a daily basis, at the hands of those who have no interest in peace.

Like last week’s murder of an Israeli family with small children, and like the dozens of rockets fired from Gaza over the last several days, the victims of today’s bombing were innocent people. These attacks illustrate the challenges that Israel faces in persuading some of its neighbors to permit it to live in peace and, indeed, to bring peace to the region.

Our hearts go out to the victims of these attacks and their loved ones, and to the Israeli people. We express our full support for the State of Israel as it takes steps it deems necessary to defend its people. We denounce attacks like this that make peace even more difficult, and which have brought so much grief to so many innocent people.
