Quick Picks Giveaway!
Happy Halloween! Or as it’s (somewhat) known in Israel, “the holiday with less awesome costumes than Purim.” Disappointed that you’re too old to trick-or-treat? Well, we’ve got the next best thing. Instead of knocking on people’s doors and asking them for candy, why not call them up and ask them to support the Jewish community?
This Sunday, join CJP's Young Leadership Divsion (YLD) for CJP's Super Sunday, the largest community-wide fundraiser of the year. Meet other young adults, enjoy tasty BBQ, enter a raffle of fun prizes, and be a do-gooder all at the same time. There are several ways to help out, but if you volunteer to make fundraising calls, we’ll give you a basic training (e.g. don’t say “trick or treat” on the phone). Please note that Super Sunday is an all-day event. YLD will be making calls from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m., but you're welcome to help out earlier if that works better for you!
Here’s a treat: Quick Picks is running a fun and simple giveaway in honor of Out in Israel month, a campaign that celebrates and educates about Israel’s LBGT community. What’s the prize? A pass to the Boston Jewish Film Festival (BJFF) that’s good for three admissions (a value of $30) plus entry into the Young Adult Party at Finale, Monday November 7, after the Short Films Competition.
To enter, simply snap a photo of an Out in Israel poster -- you'll find them sprinkled throughout the MBTA (Kenmore, Government Center, Park St, Copley, Downtown Crossing, State, and Harvard). Then email it to us with your name and contact info (20s30s@jewishboston.com). Takes all of two seconds with a smartphone.
The first five people to enter will win this pass! The festival runs Nov 2 - Nov. 15, so grab your phone and your Charlie Card, and find an Out in Israel poster fast!
Also, check out the Out in Israel events taking place in Boston starting Nov. 5th.
