Quick Picks 7/2 – Seriously, July 4th? You’re on a Wednesday?
So July 4th decided to deny us a much needed three-day weekend this year by falling this Wednesday. (We’d like to say ‘thank you’ to July 4, 2011 for being more considerate.)
We’d also like to give a shout out to 80 young adults from our community who won’t be here for our country’s Independence Day. That’s because they just landed in Israel today. A big mazel tov to CJP’s Young Leadership Division Mission to Israel and Boston Community Birthright Israel trip! And since we all wish we were in Israel too, we can live vicariously through blog updates from CJP’s Birthright group! (Expect their first post soon; they just arrived!)
What should these young adults do once they return from Israel and want to explore Jewish life in Boston? Say it with us: “Subscribe to QUICK PICKS!” Here also is some sage (and far less biased) advice from CJP Birthright alum and entrepreneur extraordinaire Adam Miller.
Happy Independence Day!

July 18: Comedy, appetizers, and drinks on the house? What better way for the JDC to launch their Entwine event series! JDC’s Entwine focuses on engaging young adults in the global Jewish community—and for the kickoff event, their first stop is Russia. While getting a visa to visit Russia might not be easy, going to From Moscow With Love is a cinch. Just RSVP here.
