Keep riding the Community Service Day wave
Anyone who made it out to Community Service Day last Sunday can be proud of their amazing work. Here are just two examples of the impact across seven sites total!
Greater Boston Food Bank
5,380 lbs of food were sorted. That means each volunteer made 107 meals possible!
Avon Walk
Our volunteers cheered on 2300 walkers, who raised 5.2 million dollars this year for the Boston Avon Walk. Check out the pic!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
It’s time to build on the impact of Community Service Day. Here are some great organizations that will link you to on-going service opportunities and new friends:
Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters (JBBBS)
How can your heighten your love of watching movies, visiting museums, and seeing sports events? Share them with a Little Brother or Sister! Your ‘Little’ can range in age from 6-18.
Reach Out! (through JCRC)
Join a small group of your peers for an 8-10 week volunteer commitment at one of ReachOut!’s partner sites. Opportunities range from working with teens, spending time with seniors, helping the homeless, and providing adult education. Plus you’ll get to know your fellow participants through two Shabbat dinners and social opportunities. Next cycle begins October 2011!
Jewish Vocational Services (JVS)
A lot of people could use some support in finding a job these days. At JVS, you can help job seekers with interview practice and their hunt.
Jewish Family & Child Services (JF&CS)
JF&CS runs amazing programs that touch so many lives: isolated seniors, new parents, recently-arrived immigrants, people with disabilities, and others in need. JF&CS will match you to your interest!
Moishe Kavod House is the destination spot for people in their 20s and 30s dedicated to tikkun olam, the repair of the world. Here you can help build community and inspire social action work.
