Lots of people associate Purim as a kids’ holiday. Why?

The story of Purim is not exactly kid-friendly. It begins with an orphan, Esther, who was raised by her cousin Moredcai and then taken to serve in the King of Persia’s harem. (Spoiler alert: the story ends well!). So why should it just be kids dressing up and partying? In Israel, Purim is a BIG deal for twenty- and thirty-somethings.  Check ‘em out raving in costume last year:
