The Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston announces that Mitchell Morgan has been appointed Director of JCC Maccabi Camp Kingswood, the JCC residential camp in Bridgton, Maine.

Morgan, a native of Creve Coeur, joins the JCC community from St. Louis, where he was most recently part of a team developing a new camp in southern Illinois. His camping experience extends more than 15 years and includes summers as a counselor, program director, CIT director, assistant director and director. He also participated in the first class of Foundation for Jewish Camp Yitro Fellows, an elite group of assistant and associate Jewish camp directors chosen for training as next-generation Jewish camp leaders.

Leslie Zide, longtime JCC camping veteran who has served as interim director of Kingswood, has been appointed assistant camp director.

According to Mark Sokoll, JCC President and CEO, Morgan was selected in a very competitive process. “His energy and enthusiasm for camping and for the mission of JCC Maccabi Camp Kingswood distinguished Mitch, and we look forward to benefiting from his leadership at camp, within the JCC family, and in the local and national camping community.”

“I am very excited and energized,” said Morgan. “Kingswood is already known for building a warm, supportive feeling of family among the campers. The site is beautiful. There is so much potential and I look forward to meeting and learning from everyone.”
