This traditionally Jewish time of counting the days between Passover and Shavuot has got me thinking about counting all sorts of things.

As the PJ Library Coordinator for the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston, I am proud to count up to 2739. This is the number of books we send out each month to children living in 98 different towns surrounding Boston. Nationally, The PJ Library will reach a very impressive milestone this May — 2 million books sent!

Perhaps this May and you and your children can count the books on your bookshelf. I hope you count many of The PJ Library selections to be among your favorites. Better yet, I hope that these books have enriched your family conversations, friendships and community connections.

The PJ Library in Greater Boston serves children 6 months to 5.5 years of age. If you are not currently a member of The PJ Library, please consider registering at jccgb.org/pjlibrary or contact pjlibrary@jccgb.org or 617-558-6587.
