November is Tzedakah month at the PJ Library®

(Tzedakah—or justice in Hebrew—generally refers to charity of deeds, money and words and helping others.)

During the coming month, PJ Library members with children ages three and older will find a gift of a tzedakah box in their monthly PJ Library envelope. The sturdy foldable cardboard tzedakah box comes with colorful stickers for decorating.

Along with the tzedakah box, PJ Library founder Harold Grinspoon has enclosed a tear-out form and envelope. "I would love to hear your child's tzedakah story," Harold tells PJ families. "Please consider sharing news about the charities or causes your family chooses to support through tzedakah money." We hope some of you will respond with your stories.

For those of you who do not receive the box in the mail or would like to make an additional one, stop by the lobby table at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC on Thursday November 8 from 3-5pm to decorate your own Tzedkah box and share your stories.    

At home, why not use some of your favorite books this month to spark conversations about being kind to others, about making the world a better place, about the causes you support with your children.
