Clients often ask me where they can find out about networking and professional development events. In the past I’ve recommended meetup.com and professional association websites. Then I discovered that there’s a way to search for events on LinkedIn. Here’s how:

1. Go to the top navigation bar on LinkedIn. Mouse over the word “More” and a drop-down menu will appear. Select “Events” from the drop-down menu.

2. A new page will appear with a search function. Use related keywords (e.g., networking, job fair, etc.) to find an appropriate event and click on the blue "Search" button.

3. The search results include filters by date, relevance, location and industry. You can also view past events. If you are only interested in upcoming events be sure to unclick the box next to “Include past events”.
