Family Camp at Camp Yavneh 2011

by Camp Yavneh / March 08, 2010

Children and adults of all ages are welcome to Camp Yavneh’s Family Camp Summer Program. Jewish learning, sailing, arts, sports and Israeli dance are just a few of the activities that will be offered during Family Camp at Yavneh, a five-day camping vacation for Jewish families this summer.

Now in its 7th Year, Family Camp will be held Wed., August 24 to Sunday, August 28 at Camp Yavneh’s 65-acre property in Northwood, New Hampshire, just 90 minutes from Boston.

Family Camp at Yavneh is designed to bring families together as part of a klal Yisrael community, welcoming Jewish children and adults, singles, couples and grandparents of all backgrounds.

In a setting that features woodlands and waterfront, sports fields and a fantastic art studio, participants can enjoy a wide range of activities, such as art projects, music, dance, fishing, hiking and sports for all interests, including archery, rock climbing wall, basketball, football, soccer, softball, floor hockey, tennis and more. Waterfront activities include swimming, boating and sailing and are closely supervised by certified staff.

Additionally, there will be study sessions with the Camp’s scholars-in-residence, providing a special opportunity to explore an array of topics about Judaism and Israel with outstanding Jewish educators. The spiritual atmosphere will be enhanced at camp with a ruach-filled Shabbat. Optional daily tefilot will be available.

Evening activities for families will be offered, as well as special evening programs just for adults, while experienced babysitters and counselors provide structured activities for children. All included.

Campers can choose from a variety of housing accommodations, including private rooms with air conditioning, as well as bunks and tents. Delicious Kosher food is served and there are meal options for vegetarians and those with special dietary needs.

The cost varies based on accommodations, but it's a great value. For more information, contact the Camp Yavneh office at 617-559-8860 or visit http://campyavneh.org/familycamp.
