Creating the perfect seder is no easy task. You want the experience to be meaningful, but not too long. Authentic, but relevant. Traditional, but contemporary. How do you balance all these forces?
One popular approach is to find additional readings and activities to add to your Haggadah, either in addition to what's there or replacing sections that contain similar themes. Not sure where to start? We've got some suggestions:
- Make Your Seder More Interactive with our Guide to Engaging Kids and Adults Together
- Make Your Seder Inclusive with Gateways' Seven Strategies for a Successful Seder for All Learners
- Make Your Seder Feminist with Anita Diamant's Orange on the Seder Plate
- Memorialize the Holocaust with Haggadah HaShoah: The Holocaust Haggadah Supplement
Find all of our additional readings for your seder—and if you post your own, make sure you tag them with "seder supplement" so they'll be included in the list!
If you prefer your additional readings integrated right into your Haggadah, we have two great options adapted from our JewishBoston.com Haggadah, "The Wandering Is Over":
