Seder with a Generous Helping of Social Justice: The ReachOut! Haggadah
This year, when we gather together to celebrate Passover, the Jewish holiday of freedom, we will eat a great meal, enjoy four glasses (at least!) of wine, and tell the story of our ancestors’ liberation from slavery.
ReachOut!, the young adult community service program of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston (JCRC), welcomes you to explore what freedom means to you. We hope you will consider how the opportunity for education, sustainability, and poverty alleviation all relate to issues of freedom and struggle. Together we will consider the blessings in our lives, pledge to work harder at freeing those who still suffer, and begin to cast off the things in our own lives that oppress us.
This year, we at JewishBoston.com have partnered with ReachOut! to offer a social justice-themed Haggadah. ReachOut! welcomes you to explore the concept of Passover through not only the lens of freedom, but also the idea of giving back to your community.
