Informal poll on the best Jewish restaurants in town
Thanks to the many people who answered our Facebook question about favorite Jewish restaurants around town.
Brookline was the clear culinary destination here:
In Waban, Barry's Village Deli was mentionned. Out in Worcester, Weintraub's Jewish Deli, and on the North Shore, Larry Levine's in Peabody and Evans New York Style Deli in Marblehead. Arthur's in Chelsea (maybe some Katz's Bagels while you're there?)
For Metrowest? Joan and Ed's Deli in Natick and Kugel's Deli in Framingham.
Others were nostaglic for delis from the old days - G & G Deli in Mattapan. Fox's Deli in Chelsea, Murray's deli on Lewis Street in Lynn.
If you're heading west, Reins Deli off Route 84 just before Hartford was mentionned as great for a pickup Nosh. Careful, their website will serenade you with Frank Sinatra!
And sadly, yes, we know, New York and New Jersey outscore on this front. If you're ever in East Brunswick NJ, check out Lox, Stock & Deli.
What are we missing? Post a comment and let us know. Thanks!

What are you missing? It may not be considered to be 'Jewish' food, but they definitely serve KOSHER food... Cafe Eilat - great kosher pizza, calzones, sandwiches, fish & fabulous fries, sushi, and other yummy goodies...
