The Boston Synagogue Annouces 'Parenting Series for Interfaith Couples' -- where one parent is Jewish

by The Boston Synagogue / September 30, 2010

The Boston Synagogue announces a new three-part series entitled, "Parenting Series for Interfaith Couples" to be held on three Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.  The first session will kick-off on October 20th at the West End Community Center, located at 150 Staniford Street, Suite 9.  The sessiosn on November 3rd and 17th will be held at The Boston Synagogue, located at 55 Martha Road in Charles Park.

This three-part series will be facilitated by Rabbi Lev Baesh of Interfaithfamily.com, and each evening will focus on issues important to interfaith families, including: What values have meaning to you based on your upbringing and life experiences; What do you want to include in your current family constellation; and What would you like to offer your children?

The Boston Synagogue is unaffiliated, egalitarian synagogue that offers a warm, friend and unpretious atmosphere.  The Synagogue welcomes people wherever they might be on their Jewish spiritual journey - as singles, couples or families.  "We recognize that there is diversity in family choices and we are committed to supporting families in a variety of ways," commented Susan S. Weingarten, Chair of the Synagogue Board.  "Since we are the only synagogue in the ehart of downtown that meets 52-weeks a year for Friday, Saturday and holidays - and we are an active participant in our changing downtown neighborhood - we have also reach out to partner with the West End Community Center on this program."

The Boston Synagogue offers a growing list of programs and services, including a range of programs for Young Professionals, Adult Learning, once-a-week Hebrew School for kids - as well as community dinners and other holiday celebrations.

This program is open to the Community.  A $10.00 donation per couple would be appreciated.  To register please email office@bostonsynagogue.org or call (617) 523-0453.  For the latest details about The Boston Synagogue, visit www.bostonsynagogue.org -- or become a fan on Faceook.  This program is made possible by support in part by a grant by CJP's Jewish Innovation and Engagement Committee.
