We are an interfaith couple raising a Jewish family. That's what we agreed upon in the couples class* we took 6 years ago. I wasn't exactly sure what that would look like, until we actually had a kid. Matt, my husband, often amazes me, not that I didn't think he would be a patient and doting father and husband, but because he is learning and teaching our son Shabbat songs. To me, these are songs that ignite feelings of childhood nastolgia, and to hear my partner, who was raised Episcopalian, teach our 14 month old a Shabbat song, Zum Gali Gali...it absolutely melts my heart.
