Come in, we're open! Synagogue Open Houses

by Synagogue Council of Massachusetts / August 23, 2011

created at: 2010-08-02In many ways, joining a synagogue is like selecting a college.   What size synagogue?  What denomination?  What should it feel like?

A one-time visit is rarely adequate to appreciate the full essence of either institution. Meeting people at a Kiddush or other open house event (or at a college orientation session) can't begin to provide a snapshot into the ambiance and breadth of either community. But it’s a good start!

Many congregations host Open Houses before the High Holy Days to introduce you to the joys of being a part of a synagogue family. These benefits include

  • Education for All Ages
  • Spiritual Home
  • Sense of Community
  • Meeting All Your Jewish Life-Cycle Needs

Here is a list of over 40 open houses in the upcoming weeks, organized in alphabetical order by town.

On behalf of all the congregations, welcome!  We look forward to seeing you.
