This month I’m trying something different, instead of a book for middle/older readers, I’ve selected a book for adults to explore together with youngsters.  Each Nov. we celebrate an important milestone in our nation’s history marking the early relationship between colonial americans and native americans.  This season is an opportunity to not only enjoy the spirit of the holiday of thanksgiving, but also to explore the many sides of this american tradition.  We often learn a lot about the colonial experience and some about the native experience, which is why this month I bring you, Through Indian Eyes, a thoughtful collection of articles that serve as a guide to the how native people and their experiences are presented in books for children.
