In my experience as a student and as a teacher when 3rd, 4th or 5th graders are given the freedom to select books for pleasure they race for the collection of scary stories.  When I was a kid there was a wait list for these books. In my classroom and as teacher I had to pry them from student’s hands on their way out the door. Campfires are a favorite place to share and pass along this creepy lore, and to contribute to this summer past time, we have selected a collection of scary stories for our older readers.
