Boston. Our summer is longer than yours.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Hear that? It’s the sound of text books being slammed shut across our city’s fine academic institutions. Welcome to mid-May — Boston’s start of summer! Now’s the time to score free furniture from scrambling students and enjoy summery events in the Jewish community.
First up is this weekend’s Young Adult Community Service Day, where you’ll throw yourself into some meaningful, social, and fun volunteer work.
And what better way to get pumped about volunteering than to party the night before? That’s why Community Service Day is setting things off with an official Kickoff Party on Saturday, May 19th. Come for the yummy appetizers, cash bar, and the great company of your fellow volunteers. Bring a children’s book for donation, and the $5 cover will be waived.
Then on Sunday, May 20, you’ll jump into ‘do gooder’ action at the volunteer site of your choice. There are lots of great causes and activities to choose from- check them out and sign up here.
Congrats, you’ve just started off the summer as a community service super hero.
