Author Ted Gup will appear at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC on Wednesday, December 8 at 10am to discuss his new book, A Secret Life: How One Man’s Kindness – and a Trove of Letters – Revealed the Hidden History of the Great Depression, as part of the Ryna Greenbaum JCC Boston Jewish Book Fair Distinguished Author Series.Gup’s book is an inspiring account of America at its worst – and Americans at their best. Woven from stories of Depression-era families who were helped by gifts from the author’s generous and secretive grandfather, this story will fascinate and inspire in equal measure. Gup is a journalism professor at Emerson College and former investigative reporter at the Washington Post.
