Summer Camp
Jewish camping creates Jewish lives. Studies show that children who attend Jewish overnight camp have higher rates of in-marriage, synagogue affiliation, ritual activity and connection to Israel.
Jewish camp builds Jewish identity. According to a study by the Foundation for Jewish Camp, campers grow up to be adults who are:
- 21% more likely to feel that being Jewish is very important
- 37% more likely to light candles regularly for Shabbat
- 10% more likely to marry a Jewish partner
- 55% more likely to feel very emotionally attached to Israel
It's hard to pinpoint exactly why the Jewish overnight camping experience has such a profound effect. Somehow, while gazing across a crystalline lake in the silence of the dawn or building a smoky fire that sparks conversation late into the night, something magical happens. Friendships with the strength to last a lifetime are born. The quest for knowledge about Judaism begins.
Jewish summer camp offers everything you'd expect from a great summer experience—sports, music, nature exploration—all within a supportive community that builds strong Jewish identities and lifelong friendships.
