Jewish & Muslim Community Service Day
Boston, MA 02118
Join JCRC's ReachOut! and Muslims Against Hunger Project for our first Jewish and Muslim Community Service Day! Volunteer at the Greater Boston Food Bank with fellow young leaders in the local Jewish and Muslim communities as we inspect, sort and package food to be distributed to hunger relief organizations around the area.
This event is part of a worldwide movement called the Weekend of Twinning of Mosques and Synagogues, coordinated by the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding in New York City. Each winter, Muslims and Jews in several countries around the world join together in their local communities for a day of interfaith dialogue or community service. The Jewish and Muslim Community Service Day with ReachOut! and Muslims Against Hunger is one of only five twinnings in the world this year that is organized specifically for and by young leaders.
While the bulk of the day will take place at the Greater Boston Food Bank, prior to volunteering, we'll have a delicious kosher/halal lunch and participate in engaging and fun activities to get to know our fellow volunteers.
