Joy Ladin made headlines when the Yeshiva University professor became the first openly transgender employee of an Orthodox Jewish institution. Join us for a reading and discussion with Joy, a Keshet board member, that will consider how gender transition can be thought about in terms of Jewish tradition, how recognizing transgender identities can open new perspectives onto traditional Jewish texts and teachings, and how Jewish communities can recognize and welcome transgender members.
