A Courtyard Conversation
with Assistant Attorney General Dan Hammond
Massachusetts, the Supreme Court, and the Future of Health Care
Dan Hammond, Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will talk about the Amicus Brief the AG's office submitted to the Supreme Court regarding the fate of President Obama's healthcare overhaul.
As the original architect of healthcare reform, Massachusetts played an important role in defending the merits of the new law - specifically to demonstrate to the Court that Congress had a rational and constitutional basis to enact an individual coverage requirement. As an author of the brief, Mr. Hammond will share his perspective on the case and highlight important issues relating to it that are currently playing out in the media. There will also be a chance to hear about the Amicus Brief that JALSA submitted in defense of the individual mandate.
Join us for an informal discussion in the Boston Synagogue courtyard over drinks and appetizers with plenty of time for good conversation and questions.
