Reform congregation Temple Beth David in Canton welcomes their new spiritual leader, Rabbi Emma Gottlieb, as she assumes her role of full-time Rabbi and Educator. Everyone from South Shore area communities are invited to join us at her first Evening Shabbat service on Friday, July 6th at 6:30 pm and Shabbat Morning Service on Saturday, July 7^th at 10:30am, with a weekly Torah Study on Saturday at 9:30am.  

Rabbi Gottlieb brings a wealth of knowledge from her years as Rabbi at her former congregation of Temple Beth Israel in Plattsburgh, NY.  While there, she introduced many programs, such as a Torah Tot curriculum in the school, Tot Shabbat, Mishkan T’filah, Music & Meditation on Yom Kippur, along with many other activities.

She believes music to be an integral part in engaging others in worship, by bringing people and God together in sacred time and space.  Along with her Religious Studies education, she had a dual concentration in Vocal Music as well.  Rabbi Gottlieb comes to Temple Beth David ready to lead others in song as she hopes to guide the community through teaching and dialogue, Jewish values and rituals of our heritage, and engaging us in the spiritual and beautiful Jewish worship.

The Temple Beth David family is looking forward to welcoming their new spiritual leader, and encourages all current members, as well as unaffiliated Jews and Jewish families to visit them at their weekly services.  All year long, this vibrant Reform temple prays together each Friday and Saturday. Children are always welcome and encouraged to attend. The first Friday of each month is an earlier 6:30pm service geared towards families with children, although adults will find these services enjoyable as well.
