It is frequently assumed among modern Jews that there is no belief in life after death in our religious tradition. In fact, the belief is present and central, as any glance at our prayer book will make clear. In this course, we examine Jewish approaches to the afterlife or "life after life," including the affirmation of the immortality of the soul and the resurrection of the dead in mainstream Jewish belief and the assertion of the reality of reincarnation in Kabbalah.
