Are Jews Still Liberal?

Leventhal-Sidman JCC, 333 Nahanton Street,
Newton, MA 02459
This event is wheelchair accessible.

How will America’s Jews vote in November – in the presidential election and in the congressional elections?  Will their traditional liberalism remain intact, or will it show signs of erosion? Three notable experts will discuss this topic at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street, Newton) on Monday, November 19 at 7:30pm.

Rabbi David Saperstein, director of RAC (Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism) in Washington, DC, and the most influential rabbi in the country according to Newsweek (2009), will be joined by author/journalist Jane Eisner (Taking Back the Vote: Getting American Youth Involved in our Democracy), and professor/author Debra Dash Moore (American Jewish Identity Politics). The discussion will be moderated by Leonard Fein, an author and essayist whose columns have appeared in The New York Times, The New Republic, and The Nation.

The program is part of the Ryna Greenbaum JCC Center for the Arts Hot Buttons, Cool Conversations discussion series. Tickets are $18. Visit www.bostonjcc.org/artsevents or contact boxoffice@jccgb.org or 617-965-5226.
