This week-long gathering, from August 6-12, 2011, brings together over 300 people from a wide range of backgrounds for a week of serious study, moving prayer, and community building. This year's theme is “V’samtem et d’varai eileh al l’vavchem” (And you shall set these words of Mine upon your heart).
This year’s Institute features textile artist Jane Trigere and dancer Michal Richardson as Artists in Residence. Trigere will offer a course on the art of the wimple, and Richardson will teach about embodying Judaism through Israel folk dancing. Cantor Linda Hirschhorn of Oakland CA is the NHC’s second Liturgist in Residence.
