The process of creating life and birthing is an amazing experience, but can also bring questions and anxiety. Add Jewish lifecycles to the mix and it can be completely overwhelming. Join other expectant parents for a two session child birth class. There will also be a small compenent where we explore Jewish ritual preparation(baby namings, bris, welcoming your child into the jewish world, etc). We will be exploring birthing techniques and what to prepare for the hospital. We’ll have a lot of interactive activities, so bring your birthing partner. This session was created and tailored by a certified nurse midwife, Sarah Kleinman* and resident Jewish expert, Rabbi Elaine Zecher (mother of three).
Session costs $50/person or $75/couple; includes dinner for both sessions, snacks and materials. The entire course is spread out into 2 classes, April 17 & April 24th, 6PM.
This class is appropriate for first time moms or as a refresher course for second time moms, also perfect as a supplemental course if you have taken or plan to take another birthing class. Open to members and non-members, interfaith couples welcomed! Please wear comfy clothing.
The class is located in Slater Lounge at Temple Israel. Free-validated parking is available at 375 Longwood Ave (next to the Temple). Please have your ticket validated at the front desk.
