The NSJCC in Peabody and Synergy Birth present a Newborn Essentials Workshop on Sunday, April 27th led by Childbirth Educator and Doula Mari Leckel. This is the first workshop in a series of monthly program offerings for new and expectant parents on a variety of topics, in addition to a childbirth education series launching in May. The informative class on April 27th will teach expectant parents everything they need to know to care for their newborn.  From what a newborn baby will look like, to how to decode all of the newborn procedures parents can chose to have done (or not have done) at the hospital.  Mari will make sure parents leave this workshop feeling feeling confident to care for their sweet newborn.  
 
Topics to be covered will include:
*Physical and emotional changes for the postpartum mom
*Newborn APGAR score
*5 S’s of Happiest Baby On the Block
*Swaddling and diapering
*Bathing
*Sleep safety
*Baby gear
