Pink Shabbat Services for Breast Cancer Awareness

Next Event: October 16, 2014 Brockton

Join Temple Beth Emunah in Brockton for two great events during Breast Cancer Awareness month, we raise awareness for breast cancer and raise funds for Sharsheret, a national non-profit organization supporting Jewish women and their families facing breast cancer (www.sharsheret.org).

On Thursday Evening Oct. 16 at 5:30pm, bring the whole family with you to bake special pink challah bread for Shabbat and to share with the community. It will be a family friendly evening of food and fun. Please rsvp for this event to smurphy05@gmail.com.

Shabbat morning, Oct. 18 at 9:30am, please join us for our second annual Pink Shabbat. In addition to regular services the morning will feature special guest speaker The Grammar Goddess, Susan Rooks, who will share thoughts on how to use words to build bridges, rather than walls, between people when discussing things like breast cancer or other illnesses. Join us as we include special readings and honors for members of families affected by breast cancer.

If your family has been affected by breast cancer and you would like to participate in the service, please email smurphy05@gmail.com. Following services, we will gather for a festive meal including pink-themed foods of recipes provided by celebrity chefs including Emily Ellyn, Linkie Marais, Jamie Geller, Laura Silverman, Curtiss Hemm, Martie Duncan, Susie Fishbein, and Tamar Gengar.

Whether you will be able to join us or not, please consider making a donation to Sharsheret or another organization in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
