November Brotherhood Breakfast with Speaker Alan Wolfe

November 23, 2014 Acton $0.00 - $7.00

Join the Congregation Beth Elohim Brotherhood for its monthly lox and bagel breakfast. This month’s speaker will be author Alan Wolfe, discussing his new book “At Home in Exile: Why Diaspora Is Good for the Jews”. Drawing on centuries of Jewish thinking and writing, from Maimonides to Philip Roth, David Ben Gurion to Hannah Arendt, Wolfe makes a compelling case that life in the Diaspora can be good for the Jews no matter where they live, Israel included. Wolfe is a political scientist and a sociologist on the faculty of Boston College and serves as director of the Boisi Center for Religion and American Public Life. Congregation Beth Elohim is at 133 Prospect Street, Acton. The breakfast is free for Brotherhood members, $7 for non-members. For information: 978-263-3061, or bethelohim.org.
