2nd Day Rosh Hashanah Service, Canton, MA

September 26, 2014 Canton $0.00 - $200.00

We will use the draft version of the new Reform Machzor (High Holiday prayer book), Mishkan HaNefesh. It is intended to engage Reform Jews in the vital activity of t’shuvah (repentance) through new and interesting liturgies and rituals. Emphasizing education through commentaries, study texts and explanations, it is structured to mirror/complement our Shabbat siddur (prayer book), Mishkan T’fillah.

The Torah reading stand will be moved from the bimah to the floor, so that people who are unable to climb stairs may be honored with an aliyah or by reading from the Torah.

Childcare: There will be two babysitters for the entire service on each day of Rosh Hashanah. Fees and rules are the same as the first day. Please check the temple website for the Childcare Registration Form in the High Holiday Packet. Your child(ren) must be pre-registered to attend. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact Sara Zwicker at ritual@templebethdavid.com.

Special Accommodations: The building is handicap accessible, with a wheelchair ramp and a handicap restroom equipped with a changing table. We need to know in advance if you need space for a wheelchair or baby carriage so that we can make the necessary accommodations, because chairs must be rearranged to avoid blocking the aisles. A quiet and private space is also available for nursing mothers. We have a limited supply of large-print prayer books. The sanctuary has an assistive listening system (hearing loop) with several wireless receivers and earphones available. Please contact Sara Zwicker at ritual@templebethdavid.com for any of these special services.

Food Pantry Drive: We welcome all to participate in the High Holiday Food Drive. Envelopes for contributions to Mazon and Family Table, and paper bags for collecting non-perishable, non-expired, sealed food items for delivery to local food pantries will be provided during Rosh Hashanah Services. All donations to this annual event are greatly appreciated!

Tickets are required for all services. Please contact Joni Block at membership@templebethdavid.com.
