Tzedek Reflection is an inter-denominational gathering of Jews trying to tackle poverty, together. Please join us on Sunday, March 15 as we focus our next Tzedek Reflection on hunger and food insecurity.
There are over 200,000 children in Massachusetts living in poverty who rely on SNAP (food stamps) to have food on the table every day; with many eligible families not receiving benefits. Even those receiving SNAP benefits must rely on other resources, such as food pantries, free meals, and school lunches, to get enough to eat. Many children and adults go hungry every day in Massachusetts.
Our community does extraordinary work in service to support those in need and we believe that by working together, we can dramatically increase our impact. Our goal is build on that by blending education, direct service, and advocacy to create action on behalf of families who need our help. Samuel Chu, National Synagogue Organizer for MAZON (The Jewish Response to Hunger) will join us again to facilitate a program of learning and sharing, moving to action. Additionally, we will be joined by nationally recognized leaders Dr. Deborah Frank, Director of BMC’s Grow Clinic and Pat Baker, Senior Policy Analyst at The Massachusetts Law Reform Institute.
