Shabbat Learning and Lunch with Dr Tal Becker

Dr. Tal Becker, who visited Temple Shalom as our Scholar-in-Residence a few years back is returning for some special Shabbat learning.

9 a.m. Shabbat Morning Minyan

10 a.m. Breakfast Study Session:
“The Politics and Ethics of Compromise: Jewish Lessons from the Israeli-Palestinian Negotiations”
This session will include text study from traditional Jewish sources as Dr. Becker leads us in an examination of Jewish tradition’s view on compromise as a value, and its challenges.

12:15 p.m. Lunch with Dr. Tal Becker
“What’s Next? Israel and the Middle East in 2015”
Dr. Becker’s visit will coincide with the Israeli Elections scheduled for March 17. During lunch Dr. Becker will help us understand the landscape of the Israeli electorate and parties, as well as the broader horizons for Israel and her neighbors.

Lunch reservations are required. The cost is $15 for Temple Shalom members; $20 for non-members. The session will conclude around 2 p.m.
