PD101 – What you need to know about Parkinson’s Disease

Learn the basics about Parkinson’s disease (PD) at a free, educational seminar for Parkinson’s disease patients and their caregivers at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton. The seminar will be held on Saturday, December 12 from 10-11:15am. Topics include how PD is diagnosed, the symptoms that PD patients experience, treatment options, what causes PD, and some of the strategies that are being tested to slow progression of PD. Leading the discussion will be David K. Simon, MD, PhD, a board certified neurologist with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Associate Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School.
