The environment is a Jewish issue! But who knows it? It’s not at the front of most Jewish leaders’ minds. They can’t locate a concern for the environment in classic Jewish texts (except for an occasional tenuous connection such as Tu B’shvat). But the link is there. Come find out more at a course for which we honored to have the Synagogue Council of Massachusetts as a sponsor:

The recommended donation is $54 for all 3; $18 for 1. Please donate more if you can afford it to support attendance for those with less to spend and less if you need to.

Teacher: Rabbi Judith Kummer is the Executive Director of the Jewish Chaplaincy Council of Massachusetts. A Boston native, she earned a BA from Barnard College in environmental studies and urban planning and was ordained at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia. Rabbi Kummer is an avid organic gardener, potter, hiker and social activist.
