Dr. Michelle Levine is an associate professor of Bible at Stern College for Women at Yeshiva University. She holds a BA from Brooklyn College, an MS in Bible from the Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies, and a PhD in medieval biblical exegesis from New York University. Dr. Levine also studied at Michlalah Teacher’s College in Israel. Dr. Levine recently published Nahmanides on Genesis: The Art of Biblical Portraiture with Brown University Press.

Dr. Tammy Jacobowitz is the chair of the Tanakh department at the SAR High School in Riverdale, NY, a progressive, modern Orthodox high school and is a member of the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America faculty. She received her BA in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania, is a graduate of the Drisha Institute’s Scholars Circle, and completed her PhD in Midrash at the University of Pennsylania in 2010 as a Wexner Graduate fellow. She was formerly on the Rabbinics faculty for Me’ah NYC and co-authored the Jewish Orthodox Feminist Alliance’s gender-sensitive Sh’mot curriculum. Dr. Jacobowitz’s research interests include the spiritualizing tactics of Midrash, gender and the body in the Bible and Rabbinics, purity and impurity, and the contemporary use of Midrash.

Karyn Spero has an M.A. in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University with a focus on Second Temple Judaism. Following her B.A. from Stern College, she studied for three years at the Drisha Institute for Jewish Education in New York. Before moving to Boston, Karyn taught Tanach in the Women’s Beit Midrash of the Torat Tzion Kollel in Cleveland. She taught Tanach on the high school level at Gann Academy in Waltham and is currently teaching Tanach and Jewish Thought at Maimonides High School, where she also develops educational programming as part the Student Life Team.
