Newton, MA 02459
This event is wheelchair accessible.

Making Trouble, a film that tells the story of six of the greatest female comic performers of the last century - Molly Picon, Fanny Brice, Sophie Tucker, Joan Rivers, Gilda Radner and Wendy Wasserstein - will be shown at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC in Newton (333 Nahanton Street) on Sunday, April 3 at 4pm. Rich in entertainment history, the film uses interviews with experts, scholars and entertainers, as well as archival material and rare film and television clips to bring to life these female comedic legends.  Four of today's funniest women - Judy Gold, Jackie Hoffman, Cory Kahaney and Jessica Kirson - will host the event, gab about these comic pioneers and chronicle their careers. The film is a project of the Jewish Women's Archive. The screening is part of the Ryna Greenbaum JCC Performing Arts Series. Cost is $8. Free popcorn. Purchase tickets at www.jccgb.org/arts or contact 617-965-5226 or boxoffice@jccgb.org.
