A “Swim in the Sea” of the Talmud

March 24, 2015 Acton $0.00 - $60.00

The Talmud is often referred to in Hebrew as “Yam HaTalmud,” the Sea of the Talmud — and it is recommended that one test the waters of the Talmud accompanied by an experienced guide. In this six-session introductory class, Rabbi Lewis Mintz will explore the language, logic, and philosophical approach of the Babylonian Talmud. Students will experience how the sages, over the centuries created a living, organic and dynamic environment with which Judaism as we know it developed. The class will meet Tuesdays 7:30-9 p.m. starting on March 24.
