Adult Learning at Temple Sinai “Seeing Ourselves in the Chanukah Lights”

December 6, 2015 Brookline

At the time of Chanukah, the Israelites, small in number, overcame the oppression of the more powerful Greeks. How do we work to sustain our fragile commitments to new ways of responding? How do we develop confidence and competence as we face increasingly difficult challenges, and strengthen our new self? This class, the second in a series on four Jewish holidays through the year, is taught by Dr. Joel Ziff, a practicing psychologist and author of the book Mirrors in Time: A Psycho-Spiritul Journey through the Jewish Year. Using meditation and other experiential activities, we will align ourselves with the changes of the seasons and each season’s Holy Days to make personal connections with themes associated with each holiday.
