Great Sugyot of the High Holidays

Next Event: September 26, 2016 Brookline $45.00 - $60.00

Yoetzet Halacha Sarah Cheses, Dr. Reuven Kimelman and Rabbi Dani Passow

Open to men and women.

Prepare for the High Holidays with Ma’ayan! This series of three sessions will be taught by rotating faculty: Rabbi Dani Passow (rabbi of the Harvard Hillel Orthodox Minyan), Yoetzet Halacha Sarah Cheses (incoming Young Israel of Sharon rebbetzin), and Dr. Reuven Kimelman (Brandeis University). In each session, the instructor will explore a favorite sugya (excerpt from the Talmud) which explores themes relevant to the approaching Days of Awe: teshuva (repentance), prayer and atonement.

Each session will stand alone and is only 75 minutes long — a short and sweet window that we hope you can fit into your busy schedule. As with all Ma’ayan learning, if you miss a session, you can always catch the mp3. This class will allow you to prepare for our most majestic and introspective season; will put you into conversation with our central text, the Talmud; and will expose you to an exciting cast of new and veteran Ma’ayan instructors. Don’t miss it!
