Interfaith Concert at JCC in Newton

An interfaith concert featuring soulful songs of healing, renewal and resilience will be held at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton on Saturday, October 25 at 7:30pm. The concert, From Within – Songs of Healing and Renewal will feature performances by cantorial soloist Jodi Blankstein (pictured), South Church Minister of Music Laura Weiss and guitarist Adam Dehner.

Blankstein has served as the cantorial soloist at Temple Emanuel in Andover since 2008. She will lead Congregation Mishkan Tefila in Newton and the Beth El Temple Center in Belmont in weekly song and prayer beginning this fall. Weiss is the Director of Music Programming, Organist, and Choir Director for South Church in Andover. Dehner is a founding member of the contemporary Jewish band Yom Hadash. He is also a record producer and guitar teacher in Boston.

This event is open to all. The program, part of the Ryna Greenbaum JCC Center for the Arts, is co-sponsored by Jewish Family and Children’s Service Jewish Healing Connections, Mayyim Hayyim, and JCC Interfaith Connections.
