In this workshop at Temple Emunah of Lexington on Sunday, November 20, 1:00-5:00 PM, we invite you to define and articulate your legacy through the ancient Jewish tradition of writing an ethical will, and to begin a rich dialogue with those you love.

Through a series of exercises and facilitated conversations, we will help you explore: What values, experiences and stories are important to me?  What do I want to share? How have my most challenging life experiences shaped who I am today? What does all of this mean for me now?  What choices do I want to make today as an individual (or as part of a couple) given what I propose to say to my children, grandchildren, or other loved ones?

We will combine our writing and reflection with a series of step-by-step dialogues and role plays so that we can better connect with our families and friends in an enhanced mode of mutual respect and equality.  We open doors to vulnerability, courage and authenticity, understanding that the older generation cannot have all the answers in a constantly changing world.

Each of us can benefit from reflecting on what life has taught us, and the not-yet born children or your children’s children will thank you for embarking on this journey of legacy and dialogue.

Note: People who have attended Bob’s previous workshops at Temple Emunah or LimmudBoston will find this workshop offers you a way to continue and extend the thinking you began in those workshops. Kindly RSVP to Bob Russman-Halperin at bob.halperin@gmail.com.
