Mindfulness Meditation: Scholar-in-Residence at Congregation Beth El

May 9, 2014 Sudbury

Congregation Beth El of Sudbury is pleased to welcome Rabbi Sheila Weinberg, teacher, spiritual director and author, as the Scholar-in-Residence the weekend of May 9, 2014. Rabbi Weinberg’s teachings on mindfulness meditation will serve as an introduction to next year’s Tikkun Midot project for which Congregation Beth El received a generous grant.

Titled, “Surprisingly Open:  Practices of Mindfulness, Meditation and Soul Traits that Open our Hearts”, Rabbi Sheila Weinberg will teach how mindfulness meditation as a form can enliven and illuminate Jewish practice, ideas and community.  She will help us learn more about mindfulness meditation and its value in our lives and will help introduce the Tikkun Middot Project, Beth El’s upcoming year-long study and practice of ethical soul-traits that can guide our personal and our communal lives.
