Basketball and soccer clinics for young children will be held at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center in Newton on Monday, January 16, during the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day school vacation. The basketball clinic for boys and girls in grades K-3 will run from 9am-3pm. A half-day clinic will be held from 9am-noon. The clinic will be led by sports and conditioning coach Joe Agosto, basketball coach and referee Pete Sylvester and former Division II collegiate basketball standout Deshawn Gibbons. Cost is $120 for the full day or $60 for the half day.

 

A two-hour soccer clinic for ages 3-5 will run from 9-11am. Children will be divided into two age groups and the clinic will include time for arts and crafts. Cost is $40. For children ages 6-12, a clinic from 9am-1pm will include warm-up, tag games, relay races, team building activities, skill building activities, and a game of World Cup. Cost is $80. Coaches from Super Soccer Stars will lead both of the sessions. All clinics provide an opportunity for children to build confidence and learn teamwork while developing their skills.
