ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Mother-Daughter Bat Mitzvah Program introduces a variety of role-models, offering young women (ages 11 – 13) not one but many paradigms of the “ideal” Jewish woman. This program opens conversations between mothers and daughters about core values, offering texts to help them navigate this life-passage together. Each session includes text study and a creative component, engaging mother and daughter experientially through a variety of modalities, including drama, art, and music.

This program was created by MaTan, the Sadie Rennert Women’s Institute for Torah Studies in Jerusalem, and Ma’ayan has been offering the program since 2006. We invite you to join the growing community of over 5,000 mothers and daughters in over 100 communities in Israel, North America and abroad who have participated in this meaningful program.
