Movie Screening – Rosenwald

The Adult and Family Education Committees of Young Israel, Temple Israel and Temple Sinai invite the community to a screening of the film, Rosenwald. This award-winning and inspiring film directed by Aviva Kempner tells the story of Julius Rosenwald, the son of an immigrant peddler who rose to become the President of Sears & Roebuck, Co. Influenced by the writings of educator Booker T. Washington, this Jewish philanthropist joined forces with African American communities during the Jim Crow South to build 5,300 schools, providing 660,000 black children with access to education in the segregated American South.

Register before January 25 for $10 admission; $12 admission the day of the event. Admission includes the film, Q&A with the director, and refreshments. For additional information, contact Ami Blaszkowsky, Director of Education at education@yisharon.org.
