Novelist and essayist Ayelet Waldman talks about her writing career, including her acclaimed new novel “Love and Treasure”. The book weaves a tale around the true story of the Hungarian Gold Train during World War II, and the young Jewish officer who is charged with guarding this treasure – a responsibility that grows more complicated when he meets a beautiful Hungarian woman who has lost everything in the ravages of the Holocaust. Ayelet Waldman is the author of “Red Hook Road” and “The New York Times” best-seller “Bad Mother”. Her essays and profiles have appeared in a variety of publications, including “The New York Times”, “Vogue”, “The Washington Post”, and “The Wall Street Journal”. She will be interviewed by Lori Lefkovitz, professor of Jewish Studies and director of the Northeastern University Humanities Center.
