Fifty years ago, it was nearly impossible for Catholics to get annulments. In Orthodox Judaism, only husbands could grant divorces. In evangelical Protestantism, divorced men and women were treated as damaged goods.
Today, in all three traditions, times are changing. But how much? And how fast?
